Ancient Gears is a deck that is made to pop off but there are downsides to this deck that sometimes is unfortunate but that is how this deck is made to be played. AG's whole function is to be a OTK style deck while sometimes stopped by your opponent u can still work around it and play(if ur opponent isnt a mindless Fiendsmith player) so here are some tips for playing this deck
1. Originally i played Kashtira Fenrir for support/body, it was a earth attribute so it worked well with the deck so even if i was under Gozen i was fine but ultimately i decided to cut Fenrir and replace it with Lava Golem and i may sound like a broken record it is true i am a going 2nd based deck so lava golem was good to just out my opponent's monsters if need be but do watchout that Lava Golem is a fiend monster so they can use if for fiendsmith combo's but we did have a work around it.
2. Clockwork Night: This is ur floodgate of the deck, this card is mainly to turn all ur opponents monsters into machine and even though FS can get around it they have to use more resources to out clockwork and sometimes it just blatantly stops ur opponent from playing depending on what they are playing. i do run Clockwork Knight in this deck IRL but it is not in MD as i am typing this and will replace I:P with it once it does release.
3. I:P is probably ur most useless card in this deck since personally i never use it and will be replacing it with clockwork knight once release as stated before but for the time being if u find urself not liking I:P and want to replace it, Accesscode Talker is a great replacement since it is really easy to summon, heck even appo is a great choice too.
4. Magical Hound and Therion King Regulus are great supports for the deck. Hound sends a face up spell or trap on the field back to the hand and Regulus is a onmi negate
5. Droll & Lock Bird is the only handtrap i play in this deck. Ash was originally in this deck but i decided to try out Droll instead of Ash to test the waters and with a going second deck like AG's Droll is a better option IMO
6. AG Fortress and AG Duel are ur best AG support cards u have and make sure they are on fiend(mainly Fortress) before u start comboing since Forfress stops ur opponent from responding to AG cards.
This is all the tips i can think of atm but regardless i hope u enjoy this deck as much as i do :D
